The Freaks Showteam

From the blog

Finally the time has come. After many weeks of hard work and intense preparation, we are ready for departure. The Formula 1 Grand Prix of Bahrain 2015. Indeed a top-event with thousands of visitors, lots of media and right in between TheFreaks.

I can still remember how speechless we were, as the event-manager told us, after our performances at the 6 hours endurance race, that he wants to rebook as for the F1 event. It was such a great acknowledgement to be the one who is allowed to perform at the main event of Bahrain. After all, there are so many fantastic artists who perform there throughout the year.

Right after we had arrived back in Austria, the Bahrain agency contacted me and sent me all the details for our shows at the F1 event. I have to admit, at first I was pretty shocked. We need to perform 6 times per day, 3 days in a row, and 30 minutes show-duration each. At street festivals we usually perform 3 shows a day, and that’s quite challenging. Now we have to perform twice as much. But that’s not it. The area we perform at has no roofing, which means we have to perform in the sun. In April Bahrain has about 30 degrees Celsius.

So, it won’t be just physically a big challenge but also in terms of concentration. After all, one small mistake during our shows can have a fatal ending. Therefore, we had a very intense preparation during the last weeks. We wanted to be as fit as we can possibly be for such an event. We trained twice as hard, added a lot of strength- and conditioning-training, reduced our waterbreaks and even after many hours of practice, we still tried to push ourselves.

I think it’s hard to imagine how strenuous and hot it will be, but we also know that the crowd and the great atmosphere there will push our limits. We know, this is a great possibility and perhaps a once in a lifetime chance to perform at such a great event at such a great location. Therefore we will definitely enjoy every single minute in Bahrain. We will show how awesome and spectacular we are and what a wonderful team a small country such as Austria has to offer. It’s going to be a unforgettable Adventure we are all looking forward to.
